Hangboard
Hanging up Morgan’s Christmas present!
We wanted to mount the hangboard on plywood and then have some extra T-nuts for random holds. Since the T-nuts need some space on the back, we added some 2x4s behind the plywood.
We found 3 studs above our door frame. Unfortunately, they weren’t really evenly spaced. Here is one 2×4 screwed into the middle stud.
There are a bunch of ratty plywood boards in the garage left over from the previous owner. We repurposed the biggest one and cut it to 41×17 in. I filled in the holes with spackle and we sanded it down and painted it.
It was looking really good until we started to drill holes for the T-nuts. Then our beautiful board got messed up…
We drilled pilot holes for the rest of the holes and they turned out much better.
Mounted the hangboard to the bottom of the plywood and with the T-nuts above it. We followed the instructions from here.
Hung up the board onto the 2x4s…
And Ta-Da!
